An AI product FAQ generator on Shopify is useful when the description already exists and nobody has time to write ten answers per product. Product FAQs for AI Crawler drafts questions from product data, or from a description you type, and leaves those drafts editable before you save them. The draft is a starting point. Measurements, materials, and policies still need a person.

The app reads the product title, description, vendor, and type from Shopify, then returns FAQ content in an editable wizard in the admin. You can pick one or more products, or you can write a free-text description and let the service ask clarification questions before it produces the final set. A batch size and a plan price are not stated in the feature catalog. What the catalog does state is that generation loops the same call per product when you select more than one, and that a monthly creation limit applies to AI generation and to manual creation.

What the generator reads

Product mode uses fields Shopify already stores. The title names the item. The description is the long text, and it is the field most likely to contain a measurement, a material, or a care line. Vendor and product type add context, such as a brand name or a type like "candle" or "tee." If the description is a slogan and the real specs live only in a photo, the draft has nothing solid to quote. Put the specs in the description first, then generate.

Description mode is the other path. You write a short account of the business or the product in your own words. The service can ask follow-up questions before it writes the final FAQs. Answer those clarifications with the same care you would use in a support macro. A vague reply produces a vague FAQ. A specific reply, with a unit and a condition, gives the draft a fact it can repeat.

  • Title: the product name the draft should stay attached to.
  • Description: the main source for materials, measures, and care.
  • Vendor and type: extra context from the product record.
  • Your own paragraph: used in description mode, with optional clarification questions before the final draft.

Generate from one product or from a description

Open the wizard from the admin navigation. For a single product, use Shopify's resource picker and run generation for that item. Read the returned questions before you touch save. For a product that is new and not fully listed, description mode lets you paste the copy you would have put in the description. Both modes return text you can change. Neither mode publishes to the storefront until you save the group.

When you select several products, bulk generation loops that same per-product call. Each product gets its own pass. The catalog does not describe one combined job with a fixed batch size. Plan the review the same way: one product's draft at a time, even if the clicks that started them were together. A monthly limit can stop a later creation once the shop has used its allowance. The catalog does not publish that allowance. If the app blocks creation and shows an upgrade prompt, that is the limit working, not a failed product.

Edit the draft before you save

Generated FAQs are fully editable before saving. Change a question that sounds like marketing. Delete an answer that states a number the description never contained. Add the condition the draft skipped, such as "on the size medium" or "when washed cold." The wizard is the review step. Saving writes the group, including its items and any product links, and the storefront then reads the metafield copy.

Check three kinds of sentence every time. A measurement needs a unit you can stand behind. A material needs to match the product, not a sibling SKU. A policy needs to match the policy page, including who pays postage and how many days the shopper has. If you are unsure, leave the question out. A missing FAQ creates an email. A wrong FAQ creates a dispute.

You can also build the group by hand: name, category, tags, status, template, pagination, and any number of question and answer pairs, with products assigned in the resource picker. A live template preview shows Accordion, Grid/cards, Boxed, or Minimal before the shopper sees it. Hand entry and AI drafts share the creation limit. Pick the path that matches how much of the truth is already in the description.

What you still have to fact-check

The generator does not score its own accuracy. Nothing in the catalog is an accuracy grade, a confidence badge, or a guarantee that a sentence is true. The product record is the source. If burn time, fill weight, or inseam is absent there, the draft should not invent it, and you should not publish it if it does. Description mode's clarification questions are the moment to supply a missing fact. If you skip them, expect a general answer.

After save, the product-page block shows the group only on assigned products. A group with no products assigned is shop-wide. Keep generated fit answers on the product. Keep a generated paragraph about store-wide shipping in the global group, and only after you have compared it with the shipping policy. Re-open the group later if a spec changes. Editing saves the fields, the items, and the product links again, which refreshes what the metafield holds.

Questions about generating FAQs

Can I generate FAQs from the description alone?

Yes. Description mode takes a free-text description, and it can ask clarification questions before the final FAQs. Product mode reads title, description, vendor, and type from the product you pick.

Are the drafts published automatically?

No. They stay editable before you save. The storefront copy is the metafield written at save time.

Does the catalog name a batch size or a plan price?

No. It documents a per-product loop for bulk generation and a monthly creation limit, without a published count or price.
