Jotform alternative for Shopify stores that want submissions in the admin

Move a form into Shopify only when the jobs you need are documented for SK Form Builder. Keep Jotform when you need the payment, document, or signed-PDF allowances on a Jotform account. This article does not name a winner for every store.

SK Form Builder stores submissions in the app, can email the merchant and the customer, and can export CSV, Excel, and PDF. A submission with a customer email becomes a ticket. A canvas signature pad can store a drawing as a data URL. The catalog does not include a card field, Stripe, or document generation.

Plan prices on the Squadkin side are Starter at no charge, Basic at $4.99 a month or $49.90 a year, and Pro at $12.99 a month or $129.90 a year. The catalog does not map those prices to individual features. Do not assume a connector is “on Pro” because another form app gates it that way.

Jobs that can stay inside Shopify

These are in the SK Form Builder catalog. They are the jobs that can leave an external form tool without a loss you can point to in this product.

  • Custom fields: 34 components, including phone, country and state, product selection, quantity, file upload with an extension allowlist, and multi-step pages with progress navigation.
  • Rules: AND or OR, with equals, contains, is empty, and greater or less than.
  • Shopify records: create or match a customer, apply tags, write customer metafields, create a draft order from product fields, or email a discount code. There is no in-form card charge.
  • Admin inbox: submissions can be approved, rejected, or left pending, assigned, and exported. CSV exports over 1,000 rows run in the background and email a download link.
  • Tickets: an emailed submission becomes a ticket with an SLA due date. Agents use a separate portal. Customers can reply by email into that thread. A CSAT score from 1 to 5 can be emailed after resolution.
  • Zapier: the app can post the raw submission to a webhook URL you configure. That is a pipe. It is not a pre-built map of every Jotform field.

Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Slack, and Shopify Flow are also in this form app’s catalog. HubSpot here means the form app can create a CRM contact and add it to a list. The separate quote app does not include that connector.

Jobs the Jotform listing advertises that SK Form Builder does not document

Jotform’s Shopify install guide, updated 9 October 2026, says you install the app, connect a Jotform account, and publish a form as an inline section, a popup, or a floating button. Submissions open from View Submissions, or from Submissions in that app’s menu. That is the app’s own inbox inside Shopify admin. The guide does not say a submission becomes a Shopify customer, order, or draft order.

An older Jotform page about pasting an embed code says that path does not send submission data into the Shopify store, and it points to Zapier for a customer record. That is a different setup from the app guide above. Do not treat the two pages as one feature.

The Jotform Form Builder listing advertises conditional logic, file upload, payments, documents, and e-signatures, and it says the app works with Shopify Admin and Shopify Flow. The install guide does not walk through payments, documents, or e-sign. Those remain listing claims. Jotform Sign is a separate product for sending a PDF to be signed. Jotform’s own Sign material says that product is E-SIGN and UETA compliant and keeps an audit trail. That is Jotform’s claim, not an independent legal finding.

SK Form Builder’s signature pad stores a canvas drawing as a data URL. It is not a PDF workflow, and the catalog does not describe an audit trail. Use the pad for a drawn signature on the form. Leave a document that must be signed and returned on Jotform Sign.

On 13 October 2026 the App Store listing showed the Shopify app as free to install. Jotform’s pricing page the same day listed a separate account: Starter at $0 with 5 active forms, 100 submissions a month, 100 MB of upload space, 10 payment submissions, and 10 signed documents. Bronze was $39 a month, Silver $49, and Gold $129, with Enterprise custom. The Shopify install guide does not say the free app listing waives those account limits. Compare the listing and the account page before you treat either number as the whole cost.

What to migrate first

Move one form, not the whole account. Pick a form that only collects answers you can rebuild with the fields listed above.

  • Rebuild the fields, including any show-and-hide rule, and submit a test from the storefront.
  • Confirm the merchant email and, if you use it, the customer autoresponder.
  • Export one CSV and check the columns against the questions. The catalog does not publish a universal column map.
  • If the old form charged a card or produced a PDF contract, leave that form on Jotform.

A signature pad can move with a simple acknowledgement form. A multi-signer contract should stay where the document product lives. Say that in the migration note so the next person does not “simplify” a legal packet into a canvas field.

What to leave on Jotform

Leave payment collection, generated documents, and Jotform Sign workflows on Jotform until you have a Shopify path you have tested. SK Form Builder can email a Shopify discount code and can open a draft order. Those are not card payments, and they are not signed PDFs.

Leave a feature on Jotform when it appears only as a listing line and the install guide does not show the steps. SK Form Builder does not take a card payment inside the form.

Shopify Forms remains the simpler popup if the only goal is an email inside Shopify marketing. This comparison is about an admin-held submission, not about replacing every popup.

Questions about replacing Jotform

Can SK Form Builder collect payments?

No card field and no Stripe charge are in the catalog. The app can email a discount code or create a draft order. Staff still handle payment in Shopify.

Which plan includes Zapier?

The catalog includes a Zapier webhook. It does not assign that webhook to Starter, Basic, or Pro. Check the app before you promise a tier.

Is the signature pad a legal e-sign product?

No. It stores a canvas drawing. Jotform Sign is the document product described on Jotform’s site. Do not treat the two as the same tool.

Use SK Form Builder when the submission should create a Shopify customer, a draft order, or a ticket. Install SK Form Builder for those jobs. Keep Jotform when you need the account limits for payments or signed documents, and read both price pages before you compare cost.
