You can hide a Shopify price for wholesale without taking the retail catalog offline. Request a Quote and Hide Price uses four hide-price modes: the whole storefront, a list of products you select, a rule, or only the products that already show the quote button. The catalog lists the app as fully free, with no paid tier.
When a product matches, the app removes the price from the product page and from collection cards, then shows a Request a Quote or Add to Quote button in that spot. An optional setting can require a store login before a buyer uses Add to Quote. That setting does not hide prices by itself. Guests still see a price unless one of the four modes matches the product.
Pick one of the four hide-price modes
Start with the smallest mode that matches how you sell. A hybrid store that publishes retail prices and quotes only a trade range should not hide every price on the shop.
- Whole storefront: product prices and collection-card prices are hidden everywhere the app can match them.
- Selected products: you choose the exact products. Everything else keeps its public price.
- Rules: a product matches on title, product type, vendor, price, tag, stock status, or collection. Collection can be matched by title or by handle.
- Quote button already showing: the price hides only on products where the quote button is already set to appear.
There are four modes in the catalog. Call for price and WhatsApp are separate contact buttons, with their own label text. They are not extra hide-price modes.
A lighting brand can leave consumer lamps priced and hide only the products in a trade collection. That is a collection rule, or a selected-product list if the trade range is short. A store that never publishes a number can use the storefront-wide mode and let every buyer request a quote.
Build a rule from the conditions that are listed
Each condition can use equals, not-equals, contains, starts-with, or ends-with. Price is the condition that uses a numeric comparison. Several conditions can be combined with a matching mode of any or all. Any means one true condition is enough. All means every condition must be true.
A practical trade rule is collection equals your wholesale collection, or tag equals a trade tag you already use in Shopify. Add a vendor or product-type condition only when that field is filled in consistently. A rule on a blank product type will miss the products you meant to hide.
The catalog does not list customer tags, a guest-or-logged-in condition, or a market as a hide-price condition. If you need different prices for logged-in companies, that is a different job from these four modes. The login toggle only gates Add to Quote.
Hide-price targeting and quote-button targeting share that same condition engine. You can still turn the Add to Quote button off on collection listing pages without turning price hiding off. Use that when the collection card should show no price, and the quote button should appear on the product page only.
What shoppers see after the price is removed
The app matches price elements with a broad set of selectors and removes them from the page. An inline style runs first so the price is less likely to flash before JavaScript finishes. The quote button is what shoppers see in place of the number, on the product page and on collection grids.
Check the theme’s price markup on a product template and on a collection template. A price that sits outside the selectors the app knows can remain visible. The catalog describes a broad selector list and a pre-hide style. It does not promise that every custom price snippet in a theme will match.
Call for price and WhatsApp
If the next step is a phone call, use the Call for Price button and set its label. If the next step is a WhatsApp chat from the quote app, use that contact button and set its label. If the next step is a line-item request, a portal link, and a later draft order, use the quote form. Pick the button your team will actually answer.
Treat search snippets as a separate check
Removing the price from the live page does not guarantee that a search result, a shopping listing, or a cached snippet will drop the number. Product structured data, a sales channel, or an older cached page can still show a price after the storefront button has changed.
After you hide a product, open it in a private window, then search the product name and open the page source or your structured data if you publish it. If a price still appears in a place you do not want, fix that source on its own. The hide-price setting is a storefront display control.
Test one wholesale product before you hide a range
- Choose one product that should hide and one retail product that should stay priced.
- Apply the mode, then reload the product page and the collection that contains both products.
- Confirm the quote button is present where the price was removed, and that the retail product still shows its price.
- Turn on the login requirement only if you want Add to Quote limited to accounts, then confirm a guest can still see whether the price is hidden.
- Look at one search result or structured-data check so you know what still publishes a number.
Questions about hiding Shopify prices
Can I hide prices for guests only?
The catalog does not document a guests-only price rule. The login setting requires an account before Add to Quote. It leaves the price visibility to the four modes above.
Can a rule target a collection?
Yes. A collection condition can match the collection title or the collection handle, alone or combined with other listed conditions using any or all.
Does hiding a price cost a monthly fee?
The catalog marks the whole app as free, including hide-price, the quote form, and the later quote tools. There is no paid tier in that catalog.
Set the mode on a single trade product first, then read the setup on the Request a Quote and Hide Price page. Install Request a Quote and Hide Price when those four modes match the prices you need to hide.
